With tear stained cheeks, she rushed out. The pain, unbearable. Her heart, broken. Her hope, faded. In my head, I could hear her cry out loud asking, why? If you really meant forever, then why?
Down the aisle, she walked gloriously. I let out a smile, a smile so soft and sweet as I struggled to keep afloat in this sea of desire. Halfway down the aisle, she walks in beauty, like the night of cloudless climes. Again I smile, this time to conceal a few hidden tears. Tears full of joy.
How could she get through, without me by her side? To her, I was lost and lost I would remain. The only thing living, was her sense of real pain. She had tried to forget, but the feelings were so intense. Her love for me, overflowing, almost breaking out of her chest. She had convinced herself, that she'd love again. Then she saw me smiling...heard the memory of my voice...
Yes I do... I just couldn't wait. I knew she was the joy of my life. She was everything I wanted in a woman. Today, we begin the rest of our lives...as husband and wife. In my hands, I promise to make her feel happy, safe and protected. Be her hero, her defender, her knight in shining armor, her soulmate, her love.
She had freaked out, for we were to be engaged. It was unexpected, totally. A day would come when I'd be marrying someone else. We had loved with a passion that ran deep, deeper than the sea. All the plans we had are now ruined, torn to shreds, shattered... Like fine glass. How I wish I could hold her! Oh! So gently. Kiss away her tears, tears of pain, tears from her heart, tears from her soul. Say it did not end.
But today, I'm sorry. This day I want remembered for the joy and happiness it brings. A day of love, vows and wedding rings.
